Chapter 9: White House Down
After three long hours, Bravo Company had crossed the East Capitol Street bridge, the Capitol building was a little over a mile away and the White House was not much further than that.
Woolard was seated inside the Paladin tank alongside Lt. Granger.
"Company commanders check in." Lt. Colonel Edison ordered over the radio.
"This is Bravo Company, we're crossing the river and we're just about to link up with Colonel Moore's marines." Granger replied.
"This is Charlie, we're under heavy fire, walkers are approaching our position to the East and..." Static cut off Charlie Company's response.
"Charlie Compa

Chapter 8: Total Loss
"So, after I blew away the big grunt with the chisel gun, I picked up Carly and Dave from their hiding spot and we began our trek to the evacuation centre, when I saw that long legged monstrosity shooting at you and I joined the fray." Woolard finished his story. The group had taken shelter in a nearby house while Woolard recounted his alien encounters with them.
"It's nice to know that these things can be fought." McCloskey remarked.
"They can, we just need to figure out how their guns work so that we can level the playing field." Woolard confirmed.
"So what do we do now?" Carly asked.
"We go to the evacuation

Chapter 6: We've Got Saucers
Alvarez had just slipped into her flight suit when the orders came for her and the rest of the squadron pilots to proceed to the briefing room for assignment.
The briefing room itself was cramped out of necessity to be able to house as many pilots as possible, hence the "sardines in a tin can"-level of violation of individual personal space. Normally she wouldn't complain except that she was sitting right next to Vindicator of all pilots.
"The target is this alien structure erected just outside DC." Lt. Colonel Fang stated as he pointed to a location at the outskirts of DC on the map. "We believe it to be an

Chapter 5: Total Recall
"Get to the back yard." Woolard said. "They just landed right on top of us." Woolard clarified as he saw a grey figure at least three metres tall through the crack in the blinds. It resembled a grey-skinned humanoid except that it lacked a visible mouth and its eyes were jet black and enormous compared to a human.
Can it see me? Woolard thought and answer came in the form of the alien aiming its weapon at the window and shooting at where Woolard was a second ago. Thankfully his marine training made him always on guard for any telltale sign of someone about to fire a gun, even if that someone was a Grey alien.

Chapter 4: Welcome to Earth
"I do believe that if the Aliens are peaceful they would position themselves above as many capitals as they can and send down ambassadors at the same time, to ensure that no nation would think that others are getting preferential treatment from them." Claudia stated as she conducted the briefing she and Walter could assemble given the data and time they had to work with.
"What we have noticed so far is that the alien vessels are rotating around their x-axis at a speed of approximately 62 kilometres, or 37.7 miles per hour, the resulting centrifugal forces upon the outer areas of the ship would in effect produce

Chapter 3: Running a Desk
Colonel Randal Moore sat at his desk in his office at Langley Air Force Base, reviewing personnel files and trying to figure out which officers deserved a promotion and which deserved a swift dishonourable discharge from the Corps.
So far, to his pride he didn't found a single soldier under his command worthy of a dishonourable discharge, even if a couple had earned disciplinary actions and even a reprimand for several different infractions.
One thing Moore did not tolerate was insubordination, orders had to be obeyed to the letter and "maverick" attitudes were not something he had the patience for, even if man

Chapter 2: White House
Claudia Falconer's first trip to Washington DC was not what she expected, certainly not on a government helicopter and above a panicked populace whose universe was just turned upside down.
The helicopter made its final approach for the White House lawn which had become a fortress ever since the news had broken out an hour ago, from the air she could see that there were men on the White House rooftop and that Anti-aircraft missile launchers were being deployed. On the ground right next to the makeshift designated landing site were several artillery encampments manned by numerous soldiers. Despite feeling intimidated
